Wrestling Mayhem Show 651: Cuddly Teddy Bear With Fangs

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling USSlice on BroadwayOccupy Pro Wrestling, and IndyWrestling Network!

We made it through the Royal Rumble this past weekend.  But, more importantly, we made it through Week 1 of MayhemMania.  We’ve got Beastman in studio as Sorg, Larry, Mad Mike, and Matt take us through this week in wrestling news, including:

  • Is Becky Lynch the new Stone Cold Steve Austin?
  • Nia Jax entered the men’s Royal Rumble match, which is sparking some new conversation about intergender wrestling.
  • There are two types of wrestling fans: Those who are on board with intergender wrestling, and those who are not. And, there isn’t really any gray area about it.
  • There was a lot of under ring play at this year’s Royal Rumble. Thank you Titus O’Neil?
  • Matt is walking us through some of the Royal Rumble changes we’ve seen lately.
  • If 96% of your body hits the floor in a Royal Rumble, that should count for more than your two feet. – Matt
  • Beastman is discussing what tactics he will employ when he is in the Royal Rumble.
  • Matt is calling for an official BK Broiler rule for Royal Rumble matches. We are currently assembling Dean Malenko, Ric Flair, Drake Maverick, and Drew Gulak to discuss.
  • We’re getting caught up with what Beastman has been up to – including his recent championship win with Fight Society.
  • Beastman was recently at an event with Sami Callihan, Matt Tremont, and Michael Elgin. He’s sharing how much of a change it has made in his career.
  • While in Philadelphia you do Philly things – like run the Rocky steps.
  • Beastman unveiled some new gear while in Philadelphia.
  • We’re learning about modernizing the caveman with Beastman.
  • Beastman is sharing the headband story with us. Bonus!
  • It’s time for MayhemMania – Week 2 with Beastman and the Mayhem Show gang.
  • What did YOU learn from wrestling this week?

Wrestling Mayhem Show 614: Mayhem Up All Night

We’re LIVE for this week’s Podcast with Billy and women’s wrestler Honey Badger in studio!

  • Shout out to Michael Watson and his TheWrestlers PhotoBook project.  We got our copy!
  • So. Much. Wrestling.  This weekend was RIDICULOUS – in a good way.
  • So…Karaoke at WWE Hall of Fame?
  • We think one of the best parts of the Hall of Fame is the old stories.  But, with all the backstage stuff the WWE Network is doing these days, we get those stories elsewhere.
  • We were super happy to see the return of the Salmon Jacket during Mark Henry’s induction to the Hall of Fame.
  • NXT Takeover set the bar for WrestleMania weekend  and what a bar it was!
  • Sorry ladies for having to follow up that Ladder Match.
  • Gargano v Ciampa was everything we wanted it to be.
  • The IndyIntegration over WrestleMania weekend was good to see!
  • A few people we know took the opportunity to get in front of as many eyes as possible at all the Indy Wrestling shows for WrestleMania weekend – like Dakota Kai who wrestled 6x!
  • Since we talked about Hall of Fame and NXT Takeover, we’re ready for some WrestleMania chat!
  • Thanks to @ReginaHBadger for stating the obvious – the Diva Cup shaped like an actual “Diva Cup.”
  • The Womens Battle Royal trophy was probably the brain child of the same person who thought Great Balls Of Fire would be a good PPV.
  • Charlotte vs Asuka was as amazing as we expected it.
  • Leave it to the Nia Jax win to make our guest @ReginaHBadger cry tears of joy!
  • So….Ronda Rousy…we have mixed thoughts – including some Tilted Kilt references, but kudos to a legit match on the biggest stage at WrestleMania.
  • Spoiler: There are no good guys in UFC.
  • WTH WWE? Nicholas wasn’t even a Make A Wish kid?!?!?
  • Not cool JohnCena.  That spot had to happen at that particular moment?  You couldn’t let the women have their moment?
  • OH: Undertaker looked beautiful – and I’m not talking about the extensions.
  • Elias killed it.
  • RELATED: May have been the only time we were legit pissed at Elias.  HE’S NO UNDERTAKER!
  • MayhemMania is put away until next year.  But, it’s the return of the Big Question!  This week’s question: What makes WrestleMania different from any other wrestling show that WWE does?
  • Why ISN’T WrestleMania considered for an Emmy?
  • Our guest @ReginaHBadger is sharing some thoughts on Intergender matches in WWE.
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Mayhem Mania 2018: Patreon In The Bank

This. is. Mayhem Mania!

Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

This is not fantasy booking. It’s more like reality booking. Any match created must have at least a chance of happening in this year’s WrestleMania. That means all wrestlers come in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. Anyone selected for a match must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card.

Simply put, you’re Vince McMahon with infinite cash and no self-control.

Catch up with Mayhem Mania 2018: Week 1 – Week 2 – Week 3 – Week 4 – Week 5 – Week 6 – Week 7 – Week 8

It all comes down to this. After more than two months, Mayhem Mania 2018 has reached its final stop: the epic Patreon In The Bank round! Only Patreon supporters of the Wrestling Mayhem Show were invited to participate and I’m happy to report that we had eight of them take the time to joins us live during Episode 613 of the Wrestling Mayhem Show.

Catch up with Mayhem Mania 2018: Week 1

Welcome to Week 2 of Mayhem Mania. Last week, we created the eight matches that make up the framework for our card of incredible matches. Now, the real fun begins. On Episode 606 of the Wrestling Mayhem Show, five players were invited to each make a single change to the card. They had three options.

1. SWAP a wrestler/tag team for one already on the card, or bring for a name not currently on the card.
2. ADD an unused wrestler/tag team to an existing match.
3. KILL a match AND CREATE an entirely new match with wrestlers not currently on the card.

Let’s see how they did. (more…)

Wrestling Mayhem Show 604: Rumble with Elias

We’ve got a special guest in studio this week as we’re joined by comedian Matt Light.  And, there is a ton of stuff to talk about this week, including:

  • Our guest Matt Light mixes wrestling with comedy. The best of both worlds.
  • Larry has a foam finger – but not the finger you’re thinking…
  • We are 1 degree of separation from Honky Tonk Man at this very moment.
  • RVD has a comedy (?) show?
  • So, RAW 25 happened last night. We’ve got plenty of thoughts.
  • When Christian is compared to Marty Jannetty.
  • We’re sharing some thoughts about the RAW 25 venue split and how WE thought it should have been done.
  • The APA segments of RAW 25 made the night for most of us.
  • Royal Rumble is this weekend. And, Dolph Ziggler is favored to win?
  • Our guest Matt Light is calling it now – Dolph Ziggler comes out at #30 – – – to Daniel Bryan’s theme music.
  • Sorg is waiting for Jason Jordan to snap. Mad Mike is waiting for a Shield break-up turn by Jordan, and Matt Light is just calling for him to get his future endeavored letter.
  • Why did they not have Jerry Springer on RAW 25 with a “You are not the father!” spot with Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan.
  • We’re takling about who we want to win the Royal Rumble this year and who we think will win.
  • Mainstream Matt is calling for an Elias Money In The Bank win – so we can have an MITB guitar case!
  • Nia Jax v. Asuka can be this generation’s Andre v. Hogan.
  • Will AJ Styles v. Sami and KO match be the comedy match for Royal Rumble?
  • Science: Shane McMahon cannot win a Royal Rumble match because he goes to the top rope too much.
  • Will we see Karma for the Women’s Royal Rumble?
  • We found some Friend of the Show folks by searching their names on the WWE Network.
  • This week’s Big Question: What is the future of 205 LIVE?
  • Abeyance is the new 205 LIVE champion! Woooooooo!
  • NXT Takeover is coming up soon. We’re sharing some thoughts.

  • Matt can’t take Bray Wyatt anymore.
  • We’re getting a professional opinion from a professional wrestler about Bray Wyatt with our guest Super Hentai.
  • Dear WWE: Give us a Bray Wyatt 180 as a southern preacher like Jake the Snake with his white snake days.
