Wrestling Mayhem Show 876: What’s Chicago Without Jack Perry

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling USSlice on BroadwaySidekick Media Services and listeners like you at www.Patreon.com/WrestlingMayhemShow

Step into the ring with your hosts Michael “Sorgatron” Sorg and Mad Mike as they body slam through the week in professional wrestling on the Wrestling Mayhem Show. This high-flying episode packs a punch as Sorg and Mike grapple with the sad passing of Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk, giving some gnarly memories of the legends. The duo also hypes up the crowd for the All In pay-per-view, chops it up about the epic 80,000+ attendance, and debates whether the back-to-back pay-per-view schedule will lead to a knockout or tap-out.

Turning up the heat, Sorg and Mike dive into the drama surrounding CM Punk before hitting a flying elbow drop on reviewing recent matches in NXT and Impact Wrestling. They even hint at some bodacious surprises coming up that will leave fans begging for a three count. Can All Out continue the momentum from All In? Will CM Punk appear in Chicago? Tune in as Sorg and Mike lace up their boots, step into the squared circle, and layeth the verbal smackdown for another wildly entertaining episode of the Wrestling Mayhem Show!

Our Favorite Matches Of The Pandemic Era

July 2021 is a big month for professional wrestling. WWE and AEW are returning to live touring. Impact Wrestling and Ring Of Honor are welcoming back live fans for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Somehow, professional wrestling survived more than a year of uncertainty, lockdowns and empty arenas.

The Wrestling Mayhem Show wanted to celebrate the wrestlers and the other creative minds who helped us get through the past year and a half. Here are some favorite matches of our hosts, guests and listeners from the “Pandemic Era” – the period of time that began in the middle of March 2020 and stretched into July 2021.

Wrestling Mayhem Show 650: The Return Of MayhemMania

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling USSlice on BroadwayOccupy Pro Wrestling, and IndyWrestling Network!

It’s that magical time of year when we put ourselves in Vince McMahon’s shoes for MayhemMania.  We’ve got Mad Mike, Larry, Farnsworth, Sorg, and Mainstream Matt in studio to talk about:

  • We’re preparing for NXT to see some roster changes due to some call-ups.
  • 205 Live has a new broadcast member in Aiden English.
  • We are headed into the royalest of rumbles with men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches.
  • We’re running down all of the places where you can find John Cena (or his voice). He’s everywhere!
  • We are relying on Sasha Banks to save what could otherwise be a meh match with Ronda Rousey to make it amazing.
  • Ronda Rousey should be in NXT learning the ropes. She’s doing okay where she is – but she’d be better if she were going through and learning the ropes.
  • We’re blaming Smashmouth for so many things tonight.
  • We’re talking some Hardcore Holly and Brock Lesnar.
  • Are we comparing Finn Balor to Hardcore Holly? Maybe.
  • We’re running through our dark horse options for the Royal Rumble.
  • It’s MayhemMania season – which means we’re booking our dream matches.

We’ve got a full couch this week as Joe Dombrowski, Rizz, and Larry join Sorg in studio with Mad Mike tuning in through that magical thing called the internet.  There are lots of things to talk about this week, like:

  • Rizz is making some predictions about where we may see things headed with WWE now that we’ve seen some call-ups.
  • Joe is sharing his thoughts about the WWE main roster call-ups.
  • Is WWE making assumptions that main roster fans are already familiar with NXT talent when they do call-ups?
  • The women’s tag team titles announcement had an interesting reveal since it’s a unified title across brands and not separate titles for each brand.
  • We’re taking a bit of a deep-dive into the women’s wrestling changes that are happening.
  • We’re talking some NXT UK Takeover Blackpool!

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling USSlice on BroadwayOccupy Pro Wrestling, and IndyWrestling Network!

It’s that time of year when we reminisce on what has happened throughout the course of wrestling.  Mad Mike, Sorg, and Larry take a trip through old show notes to pull up last year’s predictions, and we make some bold predictions heading into 2019:

  • We’re running through our 2018 predictions for our show!
  • This week’s Big Question: What gift would you like Wrestling Santa to bring you?
