Mayhem Mania 2022: Week 6

This. Is. Mayhem Mania!

It’s not just the ultimate fantasy booking challenge. It’s also a competitive thought experiment!

The object of Mayhem Mania is to craft the best WrestleMania card possible within the boundaries of our current reality. That means anyone WWE can book in a match is available to our players.

But this year, there’s a twist! Mayhem Mania 2022 is a two-night event! Night 1 will be the night for our traditional Mayhem Mania card featuring WWE-related matches. But on Night 2, we open the “forbidden door” and make it possible for our players to create matches with anyone outside of WWE.

The journey so far:
– Week 1
– Week 2
– Week 3
– Week 4
– Week 5

Every week, we invite players to make a change to one of the matches on our cards. They can:
– KILL a match entirely and CREATE a new one with other individuals
– SWAP out an individual or team in a match for another individual or team
– SWAP out an individual or team in a match with an individual or team in another match already on the card
– ADD an individual or team to an existing match

Not everyone is currently eligible to be used in Mayhem Mania. Some are being held in a place we lovingly refer to as SPACE JAIL. Here’s the current inmate count:

Mayhem Mania 2019: Round 8

This. is. Mayhem Mania!

Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

This is not fantasy booking. It’s more like reality booking. Any match created must have at least a chance of happening in this year’s WrestleMania. That means all wrestlers come in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. Anyone selected for a match must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card.

Simply put, you’re Vince McMahon with infinite cash and no self-control. (more…)

Wrestling Mayhem Show 641: I’d Rather Be A Rosebud Than A Ho

WWE Evolution occurred over the weekend. Sorg watched on TV. Londyn Ali is supporting the ladies. And, Mad Mike was there in person!
Londyn Ali is sharing some thoughts on WWE Evolution – as a woman in wrestling.
Mad Mike is sharing how WWE Evolution was live at the arena.
WWE Evolution did really well – as in a lot of show merch was sold out when Mad Mike tried to buy things!
We’re learning that there may have been a dark match that we didn’t see on WWE Evolution.
We are learning just how far behind Sorg is on his wrestling watching.
Londyn Ali is sharing some thoughts on the Mae Young Classic.
Becky Lynch v Charlotte Flair at WWE Evolution was an outstanding match – not just an outstanding womens wrestling match – an outstanding match. Period.
The remainder of the horsewomen have arrived!
Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella showed us that there was a decent split of fans for each side.
It was great to see the shirts fans wore for WWE Evolution. Everything from Bull Nakano to Jazz.
When Producer Missy grabs the mic to say something about WWE Evolution, you know she has opinions!
Sorg is sharing some distaste about RAW and Smackdown following WWE Evolution. It seems like WWE has problems with follow through.
Halloween has officially come to the show.

That’s right, we’ve kidnapped Rob Johnston from the AwesomeCast podcast so we can talk Dojo Pro (among other things).
Extreme Rules was in Pittsburgh, and we are once again reminded why we can’t have nice things.
Sorg was so close at Extreme Rules that he almost took a pancake to the face.
Dave heard Steelers chants come through the TV feed for Extreme Rules. Sorg recalls no such chants. Were they piped in? Hmmm.
Things we are thankful for – The Roman Reigns v Bobby Lashley match didn’t follow the Iron Man Match at Extreme Rules.
We didn’t see Elias in his hometown for Extreme Rules – despite the obvious Pittsburgh references throughout.
Sorg is sad he didn’t get an awesome Shinsuke v Jeff Hardy match.
THE CROWD GOT KICKED IN THE BALLS BY SHINSUKE!

We’ve found Brock Lesnar’s weakness – pancakes.
We’re talking about X-Pac’s dog!
We’re talking a little bit of IMPACT.
Mad Mike loves him some Brian Cage.
The key is to have creativity with just the right amount of a leash from management.
Part of the problem with non-WWE wrestling today is getting yourself out there for your audience to find you.
