Wrestling Mayhem Show 622: Kaiju of NXT

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

We’ve got a special treat this week as we’re joined by Wrestle Zone’s Ross Berman!  He is joined by our in-studio guest Jaye Cooper, as well as our usual group of wrestling fans with Sorg, Larry, and Bobby.  This week’s topics include:

  • Ross has been covering the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial. We’ve got him on the podcast to share a little bit of what he’s been seeing.
  • Podcasters and interviewers alike have been in the crosshairs awaiting the turnout of the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial.
  • Podcasts, in general, are entertainment – when someone frames it as fact-checked journalism, it can cause harm.
  • A wrestling journalist having to switch gears to trial coverage?
  • Covering New Japan is what prepared Ross for the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial coverage.
  • Ross covers New Japan, which brings us to Larry CANCELLING his WWE Network app!
  • New Japan has been doing a bit lately – including some title changes and some reach to American and European audiences.
  • Money in the Bank is just around the corner – as in THIS WEEKEND. We’re sharing some thoughts and speculations.
  • AJ Styles v Nakamura for Money in the Bank? WWE is doing the same stuff we’d be seeing in New Japan!
  • Has anyone checked to see if Brock Lesnar is still alive? We haven’t seen him in a couple months.
  • We’re making some Money in the Bank predictions.
  • The sons of IRS are facing each other, and we’re pretty excited about it.
  • This week’s big question: If you had the ability to give a Money in the Bank briefcase to ANYONE in wrestling, who would it be?
  • NXT Takeover is ALSO this weekend. We’re sharing some thoughts and predictions.
  • OH: Lars Sullivan is great! I want to see him win the title at a house show!
  • Lars Sullivan is what Snitsky should have been.
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?BONUS: Recommendation from our guest, Ross Berman: Check out David Starr v Mike Quackenbush if you get a chance.

Wrestling Mayhem Show 616: Infinity Mayhem

Surround your Kids with Healthy Options at Home

Kids eat what is available and what they see adults eating. Surround your kids with healthy options at home and demonstrate good nutrition to encourage a lifetime of healthy eating. Healthy eating habits formed during childhood lead to a healthy life. Try out Alpilean.

Kids need different amounts of foods at different ages, genders and activity levels. Proper nutrition is key.

Parents can teach their children good eating habits by being positive role models in their own choices and by explaining to their children the importance of a balanced diet and how to choose healthy options from each food group. Learn about your child’s nutrition requirements.

Mother Involving her Daughter in Food Choices

Improve Your Family’s Nutrition Habits

Involve your Kids in Food Choices

  • Include your kids when planning the weekly family menu.
  • Look at your school’s website together to see what is being served, and decide if you will make breakfast and lunch at home or buy it at school. Visit https://www.outlookindia.com/outlook-spotlight/turkesterone-review-2022-truth-behind-the-controversy-side-effects-and-safer-alternatives–news-249102.
  • Shop for groceries together. Make a list before you go to the store and only buy foods on the list. Once in the store, let your kids help you find items on the list. Read food labels out loud and talk about the choices you are making.
  • Invite your child to cook with you. They are more likely to try new foods if they’ve helped to prepare them.
  • Hold family tastings. Buy different brands of a healthy food (whole grain pasta, for example) and let family members decide what they like best.

Snack Healthy

  • Healthy snack ideas include:
    • Fruits (sliced or cubed, applesauce or dried fruit without added sugar)
    • Vegetables and dips (try carrots and ranch dressing, celery sticks and peanut butter, snap peas with hummus)
    • Whole grains (pitas, tortillas, rice cakes, popcorn, granola)
    • Low-fat dairy foods (yogurt)
    • Nuts and trail mix
  • Give your child a variety of healthy options, so there is no wrong choice.

Reduce Sugar

  • Offer water, low-fat milk or 100% fruit juice instead of juice drinks, sports drinks or soda.
  • Do not give sweets or candy as a reward. Try nonfood rewards or family activities instead.

Watch Your Own Habits

  • Never skip meals, especially breakfast.
  • Avoid fast-food restaurants by planning meals and snacks in advance, before leaving home.
  • Eat only when you are hungry. Teach (and show) healthy alternatives to eating when bored, frustrated, anxious or sad. (Exercise, reading and working on a project are good options.)
  • Enjoy family meals together whenever possible.

Wrestling Mayhem Show 600: 600 Tuesdays

Things are getting a little mayhemmy for our year-end Christmas episode.  We’ve even got our favorite imaginary friend in studio as we’re joined by Billy Ruxpin!  But, wait – there’s more.  We’ve pulled good ol’ Dj Lunchbox off the shelf and dusted him off just for the occasion!  WMS 600

  • This week we’re not only recapping the week in wrestling – we’re also recapping the year in wrestling.
  • We’ve been doing this for 600 Tuesdays?
  • Rizz is sharing some memories from his previous experiences for the STD Christmas episode.
  • Dj Lunchbox has not been involved with wrestling in some time. This is the episode where we’re getting him caught up on what’s happened since his hiatus.
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this year?

We’re running through our predictions from last year – to see who got it right for 2017 before we make our predictions for 2018:

2018 WWE Predictions:
Sorg: Enzo will be the UK Champion.
Billy Ruxpin: Daniel Bryan will wrestle at Wrestlemania. (Against Kurt Angle?)
LB: Something bad will happen with Kurt Angle and he’ll have to go away.
Bobby: Nakamura’s going to with the Royal Rumble and challenge AJ Styles at Wrestlemania.
Wheelz: Enzo and Cass reunite and become tag team champions.
Rizz: WWE will pick up Ethan Carter, III.
Larry: Next year we’ll have a women’s tagteam championship.
Bryan: Shane is going to take another stupid ass bump like Hell in a Cell.

2018 WMS Predictions:
Sorg: Bobby will start his own independent show outside of WMS.
Billy Ruxpin: Will be back on the show for 2018.
LB: Former WWE/F wrestler will be in-studio.
Bobby: We will overdub a movie, and Sorg will actually release it this time.
Wheelz: Wheelz will make his in-studio debut for AwesomeCast and WMS.
Rizz: We will have a live WMS show at either RWA or IWC.
Larry: Sorg will not remember STD Christmas special, and will not watch it afterwards.
Bryan: Bryan will be a semi-regular audience member/show member.

Fan of the show, Brandon Mynatt, will be a participant in the 2018 Special Olympics as part of the Team Missouri Bowling Team. (Donate at: http://give.somo.org/site/TR?px=1073149&fr_id=1190&pg=persona)

Wrestling Mayhem Show 581: Three Pieces of Ham

They haven’t kicked us out of the new studio space, so we’re back for the second week from our digs on Broadway Avenue.  This week Sorg, Larry, Rob and Bobby are joined by Billy Ruxpin to chat about what’s happening in wrestling:WMS

  • If you stopped watching RAW at 10:15, you were good to go.
  • RAW was in Pittsburgh last night. Yep. We were there.
  • MizTV and Jason Jordan are topping the show chatter tonight.
  • Best part of the Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan visit to Pittsburgh could have been the very Pittsburgh family aspect.
  • Larry is calling for a DNA test error angle with Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan.
  • John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura? We enjoyed it, but it was obvious Cena is heading out to do some stuff.
  • Jinder and Shinsuke. Larry is calling for a cash-in after the match.
  • We’re actually happy to see big guys beating the crap out of each other!
  • We’re actually discussing things commentators say during matches.
  • If you’re going to piss JBL off, it’s best to do it on air apparently.
  • Enzo isn’t liked because he’s Enzo 24/7?
  • We’re waiting to see Braun do a shooting star press off the top rope!
  • Sorg got to experience RAW with a child last night. It reminded him of why he got into wrestling.
  • What happened to Miz and Ambrose?
  • This week’s Big Question: Which UFC or WWE star would you like to see cross over to the other?
  • Shane-O-Mac was in a helicopter crash and is even more badass!
  • Is there too much wrestling podcasting happening these days?
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Wrestling Mayhem Show 565: Drew McIntyre Does Not a Nakamura Make

It’s the return of the WMS prodigal son!  That’s right, Eamon returns to the show.  Sorg, Mad Mike, Larry, and Chad the Shad are joined by Eamon just off the heels of Wrestlemania weekend for Wrestling Mayhem Show 565.  Of course, we talked what’s happening in the world of wrestling this week, including:

  • It apparently takes Wrestlemania to bring Eamon back to the show!
  • We’ve managed to pull Eamon away from his regularly scheduled Dungeons and Dragons.
  • Guys. We’re talking Wrestlemania, and other stuff in wrestling this week.
  • This could be Sorg’s favorite Wrestlemania – top to bottom, a great show (minus the non-wrestling stuff).
  • We’re a little split – did you feel Wrestlemania ran long? Or did it keep you interested so you didn’t notice?
  • Sharing some thoughts that Smackdown Live matches tonight were more like Wrestlemania matches.
  • Some thoughts that the John Cena match at Wrestlemania fell a little flat for what a Cena match could have been?
  • How many of us thought John Cena wrestled with a ring in his pocket?
  • The Wrestlemania win with Nikki Bella and John Cena was a contractual obligation for Cena’s house rules.
  • The real MVP of Wrestlemania was the security guard who tried to stop Gronk.
  • Gronk may have been too hype for Wrestlemania.
  • The Battle Royal at Wrestlemania felt like a legit battle royal match.
  • 3MB v Sanity at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. We’re calling it now.
  • Shout out to Billy Johnson and the great studio decor.
  • AJ Styles’ shampoo commercial spot at Wrestlemania was as good as the match itself.
  • Of course, we need to talk about NXT Takeover!
  • Speaking of NXT – we’re talking about the talent upgrades to RAW and Smackdown.
  • Our crew has some mixed thoughts on the NXT and TNA shakeups.
  • Larry is upset that the Shinsuke Nakamura Smackdown Live spot wasn’t Nakamura mistaking The Miz for Cena.
  • Post-Wrestlemania has been as amazing as Wrestlemania. We’re sharing some thought.
  • Speaking of The Hardys coming back to WWE, they WILL be at IWC this weekend!
  • We’re trying to figure out how to work a New Day “Hoooo” chant into a “Fuck That Owl” chant.
  • Cesaro is great on his own, but he’s also amazing as a tagteam partner.
  • Guys, Emma FINALLY returned – just as awesome as she was in NXT.
  • Emmalina = Lana’s Instagram posts without Rusev reading Harry Potter in the background.
  • Thanks to Vaughn Johnson for bringing up the discussion of how the roster shakeup will address titles.
  • Kurt Angle. On RAW. Sign us up!
  • All of the stereotype biker comments are coming out about Triple H and Stephanie.
  • Wrestlemania entrances…we’re sharing thoughts.
  • It’s time for the Big Question: What trade would you make in the WWE roster shakeup?
  • We’re talking about some of the great Hall of Fame moments.
  • There are mixed feelings about Kurt Angle’s Hall of Fame speech.
  • Secondary Big Question: What was the biggest WTF Hall of Fame moment?
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
  • Shout out to JaXon Argos and his amazing sign placement during John Cena and Nikki Bella proposal spot!
