  • Sorg is spreading the good word of Evolve with us.

  • We don’t know about you, but we were a little scared for Alicia Fox in her match against Ronda Rousey.
  • Bradley watched wrestling with his dad. And, his retelling of the experience is amazing.
  • Everyone has opinions about how WWE is currently utilizing Ronda Rousey.

  • Kane is an elected official, guys. *head scratch*

Wrestling Mayhem Show 598: Pale Leader, Badass Brunette, Hot Blonde

The Heir Apparent, Chris LeRusso, graces us with his presence this week! He is joined by Sorg, Bobby, Larry, and Mad Mike to talk this week in wrestling, including:WMS

The most interesting news of the week – it’s like a real life Sold Out, but it’ll be better. Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks are booking their own show guys!
We’re talking some interesting speculations on this Cody Rhodes and Young Bucks show.
It’s amazing what difference seating arrangements can make for a wrestling show.
Stephen Amell can do anything with wrestling, and we’re okay with it.
We’re taking a bit of a deep dive into some thoughts on Delirious.
Sooo….Absolution, huh?
With the call-up, NXT has to restock. We have some thoughts.
The 2018 PPV schedule has been released. There’s some good news in this, guys.
This week’s Big Question: What is the match that made you feel the most awkward watching it?
We realize there are a TON of circumstances in wrestling that are kinda awkward.
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Wrestling Mayhem Show 595: Six Star Matches

It’s a full show this week as we’ve got Old School Burt LeGrand in studio with Sorg and Larry.  As a special treat, we’ve got Tonio Garza joining us online, and Mad Mike makes a stop by in the second half.  They’re talking this week in wrestling, including:

  • AJ Styles v Brock Lesnar? Thank you WWE.
  • Does this mean we’ll see AJ Styles v Shinsuke Nakamura for Starrcade?
  • Survivor Series 2017 – we’re talking some of our predictions and speculations.
  • Burt is calling for an in-ring return of Daniel Bryan?
  • Garza is talking some New Japan and Chris Jericho v Kenny Omega.
  • So – we’re getting something we normally don’t get on the show. That’s right, we’re talking some Impact Wrestling.
  • Apparently Alberto El Patron’s promo was just weird.
  • Impact Wrestling has a casting call for paid background actors?
  • We go from Impact Wrestling to booking nostalgia matches (The Rock v Triple H or Triple H v Kevin Owens?).
  • Triple H with The Shield = Perfect
  • It’s time for this week’s Big Question: What would your Wrestle Kingdom dream match be?
  • We have e-mail! (Kinda.)
  • Stephen Amell is going to ROH?
  • There was an intergender match tonight?
  • Pete Dunne v Enzo Amore? Larry is confused, but okay with it.
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Mayhem Mania 2016 – Round 8

This… is… Mayhem Mania! Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

This is not fantasy booking (even though it kind of is). Any match created must be possible in real life. That means all wrestlers come in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. Anyone selected for a match must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card. Simply put, we have to play by the same rules as Vince McMahon.

If you’re just joining us, here are the recaps of previous rounds.
Round 1Round 2 – Round 3 – Round 4 – Round 5 – Round 6 – Round 7

Round 8 of Mayhem Mania 2016 was held during the Wrestling Mayhem Show (@MayhemShow) on SUPER Tuesday, March 1. Five members of the WMS Universe were chosen to make a single “move” or a change to the card. They had the usual 3 options:

1. SWAP a wrestler/tag team with another already on the card.
2. ADD an unused wrestler/tag team to an existing match.
3. TRADE a wrestler/match for an entirely new match with unused wrestlers.

In addition, the SUBTRACT option is still in play. It can be used to remove one person from any match (singles matches not eligible. That would be weird). This option can be used only once during Mayhem Mania. After that, it’s gone forever.

Any match that survives 3 rounds in Mayhem Mania without being altered GRADUATES to the SUPER CARD, and it finally happened following Round 7.

That opens a slot for a new match to be created on the “undercard”. Since Eamon created the match that graduated, he got to the create the new match to fill the opening. In addition, Eamon was granted a second prize – The ELIMINATOR. He can use this at any time to remove any single person from Mayhem Mania 2016. Those on the current card are protected from the ELIMINATOR, but if they are traded out for someone else, they would be vulnerable. Eamon can hold on to this move as long as he wants before using it.

Eamon also got the last move in Round 8 under the “Alex Kahrs Rule”, and got to hand out a dose of “punishment” to one of the other participants, forcing one to spin the Wheel Of NXT Tag Teams Not Named Enzo & Big Cass and using whichever team is lands on. Eamon was a busy boy in Round 8, and as you will see, he proved himself to be a true master of Mayhem Mania. Even I was astonished by how well he played his accumulated advantage into something even greater.

Mayhem Mania 2016 – Round 8

Move 1 (@Eamon2Please)
CREATE Kane vs. Baron Corbin

Move 2 (@Sorgatron)
TRADE Luke Harper for Rusev

Move 3 (@Bobbyfjtown)
(*Forced to spin the Wheel Of NXT Tag Teams Not Named Enzo & Big Cass, which landed on Blake & Murphy)
TRADE Shane McMahon & Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon for Blake & Murphy vs. American Alpha vs. The Revival

Move 4 (Antonio Garza – @TheWRevolution)
TRADE The New Day vs. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady & Mark Henry for Roman Reigns vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso vs. Nia Jax

 Move 5 (@MadMike4883)
TRADE Natalya vs. Asuka for Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vs. Shane McMahon & Ronda Rousey

Move 6 (@Eamon2Please)
TRADE Kane for Mojo Rawley

That’s right. Eamon created a match with the intention of altering it later. Under the “Alex Kahrs Rule”, that gurantees him the final move in Round 9 next week. It’s devious. It’s brilliant.

Here are the 3 matches that survived Round 8 without being altered in any way.

And now, here are the 5 newly created matches following Round 8.

Round 9 is next Tuesday night on the Wrestling Mayhem Show. Don’t miss the live broadcast at live.sorgatronmedia.com starting around 9 p.m. A friendly reminder that the spectacular and unpredictable Patreon In the Bank Round is coming up on March 15. More tenured Patreon subscribers will get preferential treatment, so the time to act is now!

What changes would you make to the current card? Who needs to be added to the card before it’s too late? Is Eamon the greatest Mayhem Mania player of all time? Mayhem Mania 2016 – Round 7

This… is… Mayhem Mania! Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

Round 1Round 2 – Round 3 – Round 4 – Round 5 – Round 6

Round 7 of Mayhem Mania 2016 was held during the Wrestling Mayhem Show (@MayhemShow) on February 23.

In addition, the new SUBTRACT option was introduced this week. It can be used to remove one person from any match (singles matches not eligible. That would be weird). This option can be used only once during Mayhem Mania. After that, it’s gone forever.

With that little twist now in play, let’s see how things played out this week.

Mayhem Mania 2016 – Round 7

Move 1 (@MadMike4883)
TRADE Kane & Roman Reigns vs. Luke Harper & Undertaker for Triple H & Stephanie McMahon vs. Shane McMahon & Ronda Rousey

Move 2 (@Eamon2Please)
ADD Goldust to Stardust vs. Stephen Amell & Neville

Move 3 (@Sorgatron)
ADD The Ascension to Gold & Stardust vs. Stephen Amell & Neville

Move 4 (@TheeRizz)
TRADE Kalisto for Luke Harper

Move 5 (@HotWheelzRWA)
ADD Kalisto to Shinsuke Nakamura vs. A.J. Styles

Any match that survives 3 rounds in Mayhem Mania without being altered GRADUATES to the SUPER CARD, and I’m happy to report…we have finally done it! After 7 brutal rounds, and several close calls, we have our first graduated match!

MAYHEM MANIA 2016 – THE SUPERCARD!

Finn Bálor vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn
(Created by @eamon2please)

That opens a slot for a new match to be created on the “undercard”. Since Eamon created the match that graduated, he will get the create the new match next week. He will also get the last move next week under the “Alex Kahrs Rule”, and will get to hand out a dose of “punishment” to one of the other participants.

No more than 8 matches are allowed on the preliminary card at any one time. The goal is to graduate 8 matches before the real WrestleMania. I don’t know if we’re going to make it, but this is a nice start. Let’s look at the rest of the Mayhem Mania card after Round 7. First, here are the 3 other matches that survived the round without being altered in any way.
