Indy Mayhem Show: To Catch a Predator with Joe Dombrowski and Jimmy Demarco
Joe Dombrowski and Jimmy Demarco reunite on the anniversary of the event that nearly got Pro Wrestling Ohio (later Prime Wrestling) thrown off of television on Sportstime Ohio in 2009. On PWO Episode 50 they aired a “To Catch a Predator” spoof in which Demarco was attempting to find Gregory Iron’s brother. We talk at length about the segment, it’s intention, what it was leading to at their biggest event of the year, and it’s lasting legacy as something of a regional independent wrestling urban legend in this hour plus episode!
Check out the content from Joe Dombrowski, Premier Wrestling, Prime Wrestling and more on www.indywrestling.network, www.indywrestling.us and www.prowrestlinglibrary.com!
It’s the last Tuesday before WrestleMania, which can only mean one thing…PATREON IN THE BANK! And, it’s a full house for the occasion. In addition to being joined by a special guest, Todd DeFazio of Idiot Radio, we’ve got Bobby, Billy F’n Johnson, Larry, Sorg, and Mad Mike talking about:
We attended RAW and Smackdown last week (which meant no live show on Podcast Day) so we’re running through our brief thoughts heading into WrestleMania.
We’re talking some NXT Takeover as we head into WrestleMania!
Is John Cena emoting the same feeling as being turned down at the high school dance or a kid throwing a tantrum? ARE WE SEEING A HEEL TURN ON THE HORIZON?
It’s astounding the number of WWE guys without contracts around WrestleMania time…
Anyone else notice The Miz’ post-baby glow?
Is there a WrestleMania match that’s booked that you can do without?
With all the matches booked for WrestleMania, we’re talking about which ones we see winding up as the main event.
More Brain Strowman please!
It’s officially MayhemMania time. Since it’s the last show before WrestleMania it’s time for Patreon in the Bank!
We are eliminating the hell out of Randy Orton in this segment of MayhemMania.
Apparently there’s not enough carnage on our MayhemMania card?
AJ may have just booked a MayhemMania match with a Hair vs Hair match of RAW v Smackdown women.
Matt has a MayhemMania list of cast-offs in a Cleveland cup. It seems so appropriate as our punishment options.
We’ve had so many changes to the MayhemMania card that we need to have a refresher halfway through to clarify what we’ve even booked.
Billy is using his god-like power as a Pizza Club Patreon supporter to blow this MayhemMania card up.
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
Thanks to Tonio Garza (@TheWRevolution) for putting together graphics for MayhemMania.
Heading to WrestleMania? If you see a Mayhemmer, say hi! If that Mayhemmer’s Mad Mike, give him a chop and send us a pic or video clip. We’ll include it on next week’s show!

Wrestling Mayhem Show 605: The Return of Mayhem Mania
It’s a full house this week as we’ve got Sorg, Larry, Bobby, Mad Mike, Billy, and Mainstream Matt in studio. As a special treat, comedian Jaye Cooper joins us as we kick off Mayhem Mania! This week’s show is packed. We’re a few days removed from NXT Takeover, the Royal Rumble, and a host of other wrestling shows over the weekend – which means we have a TON to talk about:
The worst thing for Sorg – when he can’t recognize local wrestlers in their street clothes.
So much rumbling happened this weekend! We’re giving our thoughts.
Royal Rumble appearance of Rey Mysterio confused us after watching the last season of Lucha Underground.
We have mixed reviews of the return of The Hurricane from Royal Rumble.
We’re crossing the wrestling streams because of NJPW, WWE, and IMPACT happenings and shuffles.
We’re fans of all kinds of wrestling.
OH: I met him one time at a funeral…
Welcome to Wrestle Kingdom two years ago WWE fans.
The Women’s Rumble exceeded many of our expectations.
Sorg wants a Total Taker show with Undertaker and Michelle McCool.
We’re following the #JacobsForMayor campaign, because Kane.
Royal Rumble had matches other than rumbly things. Things happened.
Braun Strowman teaching Alexa Bliss how to flip a car is the best thing ever.
Mad Mike was in the same building as Ray Rowe, Ricochet, and EC3 this weekend.
We’re rebranding Ricochet as Rick O’Shea so he can keep his name.
Mad Mike and Larry are teaming up to take on War Machine for the Tag Titles.
We’re talking some NXT Takeover and Johnny Wrestling.
We’re talking some Kassius Ohno options with NXT.
Holy $#!% Adam Cole match at NXTTakeover.
As big a night Royal Rumble was for Japan, NXT Takeover was just as big for Cleveland.
This week’s Big Question: Who left from IMPACT Wrestling do you want to see pop up in WWE?
It’s Mayhem Mania time!
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
We learned collaboratively that Jaye Cooper thinks he can take on Ray Rowe. (For the record – we vehemently disagree.)
Calls from Mayhemers: Big Freaky Says Go to Cleveland
As we talked about back on WMS 199, we get these voicemails that are sometimes too long to be listening to on the show. Big Freaky has been a regular caller for quite a few weeks, so we wanted to make sure to give him his time.
In response, we will be trying to keep a closer eye on Chikara. If you’re not aware of it, Chikara has a great Podcast to see exactly what they’re about first hand. And yes, plans willing, maybe you’ll see some Mayhemers up there.
As for the timeliness of our Indie coverage, we agree about the advance planning for these shows, and have been working to expand our coverage for several months. We run into a few issues.
If we covered all of the Indie promotions we wanted to as far out as this Cleveland Chikara show is, we’d spend far too long just covering the dates every week. Basically, we hope to give as good of a glimpse as possible into these groups so that our fans can discover and follow them as well. The ease of this can vary depending on the talent behind the promotion’s web team.
Sometimes, there’s not that much to say about Indies. If there’s no news, no new matches, etc, it’s just not on our radar. It’s hard to have a discussion amongst us if only one of us are watching a particular fed.
We are continually approaching talent and will certainly put Chikara talent on the list, as we get familiarized with them.
Sorg and DJLunchbox level a barrage of Voicemails and Fanmails at the beginning of the show and answer some tough questions. Then, we are joined by “The Passion” John Thorne to educate ourselves on Absolute Intense Wrestling in Cleveland, and their next show, Dragged to Hell, on October 23. LB then breaks the news on what WWE is doing right on RAW, Shane McMahon’s departure, and we talk Bragging Rights. Then, we are joined by WrestleFan and Mad Mike to talk about TNA Bound for Glory, and what’s being done right and wrong from here on with them.
