Brianna & Bradley Summit

There are wrestling rivalries built around championships. There are rivalries created by betrayals, grudges and years of competition.

And then there’s Brianna Bandz and Bradley.

The Wrestling Mayhem Show brought the pair back together for Brianna & Bradley Summit 2, with Sorg attempting to moderate another round of negotiations between pro wrestler Brianna Bandz and longtime Patreon Manager Bradley.

Naturally, Bradley immediately declared that he had purchased the Wrestling Mayhem Show for the day.

A Different Brianna Bandz

Behind the jokes, Brianna has experienced some significant changes since the first Summit.

She talked about losing her grandmother, losing the job she had held for years and dealing with several personal challenges that made it necessary to pull back from certain parts of her wrestling schedule. While she continued wrestling, taking time for herself helped her reach a point where she feels ready to pick things back up.

Brianna also credits Madison Beer with inspiring some of her current outlook and presentation. The angel wings that have appeared in her entrance connect to that influence while fitting a Brianna who says she has left some of her “evil” ways behind.

Bradley remains skeptical.

From Wrestling Video Games to Representation

One of the most meaningful portions of the conversation centers on Brianna’s match with Nikki Winters at Battle Club’s Fight for Pride.

Before becoming wrestlers, Brianna and Nikki were already friends dreaming about wrestling careers and creating themselves in wrestling video games.

Eventually, the fantasy became real.

Brianna recalled standing across the ring from Nikki as the significance of two Black trans women sharing that moment was acknowledged. The reaction became emotional for the wrestlers, commentary team and members of the audience.

For Brianna, it represented a complete reversal of perspective: someone who once wished wrestling had performers who looked like her had become that person for somebody else.

Building a Career Online and On the Road

Three years into wrestling, Brianna has already expanded beyond her home market, with appearances throughout the Northeast, Indiana and Canada and additional travel ahead.

She also makes no apologies for using social media to help make that happen.

Brianna still talks about doing the traditional work associated with independent wrestling, but strong online promotion has helped people discover her and led to bookings. One viral clip involving Bradley that had reached around a million views when the previous Summit was recorded is now around six million.

Unfortunately for Bradley, becoming part of Brianna’s content strategy occasionally involves physical harm to his shins.

Bradley Has Declarations

Eventually Bradley takes control with a series of official declarations.

Among the important issues facing professional wrestling: Bradley really does have a job, he won $105 in a raffle at Beastman’s Birthday Bash, and he does not approve of WWE’s famous Green Shirt Guy.

The conversation eventually turns to Bradley’s appearance during the Wrestling Mayhem Show 20th anniversary wrestling event.

What started as plans to deliver a speech became an actual segment inside a wrestling ring. Bradley detailed the nerves, rewrites, advice from wrestlers and sleepless nights that went into preparing for just a few minutes in front of an audience.

The experience gave him a different appreciation for wrestlers who repeatedly perform under that pressure.

Brianna agrees. Even after years of experience, a major match or appearance can mean spending the night before thinking through every detail.

It becomes one of the Summit’s biggest lessons: wrestling looks much easier when watching from the other side of the guardrail.

Are Brianna and Bradley…Friends?

The final declaration changes the tone.

Bradley recalls telling Brianna that his father had suffered a fall and was in a nursing home. The usual arguing stopped. Brianna wanted updates and wanted to know how Bradley was doing.

Likewise, Bradley learned about the difficulties Brianna was facing outside wrestling.

Their online feud didn’t disappear—but it suddenly mattered a lot less.

After another hour of insults, arguments and complaints about injured shins, Bradley makes his final declaration:

He thinks Brianna Bandz is his friend.

Brianna agrees.

A gift, an apology and a couple of hugs follow, although neither seems willing to guarantee hostilities won’t resume.

That would probably make next year’s Summit far too easy.
