This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling US, Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and THRIFTY Podcast!

Matt Conard and Bradley are in studio this week to talk wrestling news and views with Mad Mike and Sorg.  This week’s topics include:

  • Matt Light was supposed to be on the show, but had to cancel – for some good reason, guys. So, we got a different Matt to replace him! We’ve got Matt Conard!
  • There’s big news from this week – Ronda Rousey had her first match on WWE RAW.
  • We don’t know about you, but we were a little scared for Alicia Fox in her match against Ronda Rousey.
  • Bradley watched wrestling with his dad. And, his retelling of the experience is amazing.
  • Everyone has opinions about how WWE is currently utilizing Ronda Rousey.
  • Did you know WWE isn’t the ONLY wrestling company out there?
  • All In is looking great, guys!
  • OH: I’ve heard things. Like the ICP Great Milenko album.
  • All In is going to be available on Fite TV and Honor Club. The pre-show will be on WGN.
  • Stephen Amell v Christopher Daniels?!?!?
  • Matt Conard is going to be in a bouncy house…in his cloak. You’re welcome for that visual.
  • Matt Conard is telling knock-knock jokes.
  • Mark Cuban is headed to New Japan to take on WWE.
  • This week’s Big Question: If the Hall of Fame had a cap, and you had to take someone out to put someone in – who would you put in, and who would they replace?
  • We’re talking about the WWE Evolution commentary team announcement!
  • Kane is an elected official, guys. *head scratch*
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Shout out to Marshall Gambino who will be facing off against Chest Flexor in a cage match for the FINAL match of Gambino’s career with IWC Wrestling.

Wrestling Mayhem Show 617: Jake The Snake Walks Into A Bar

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

It’s a full house (of sorts) as we’re joined by MaxXouT heading into the Millvale Music Festival in a couple of weeks.  They are joined by Sorg, Larry, and Mad Mike this week as we talk about: WMS

  • Sorg is reminiscing about that time he directed Virgil for a music video with our guests MaxXouT.
  • Imagine trying to do some work in a professional setting and getting a dude calling you and yelling wrestling stuff into the phone. *cough* Virgil *cough*
  • MaxXouT has a Jake the Snake story, too?!?!
  • When you realize your wrestling connection with MaxXouT gets even tighter when they went to an IWC show you worked.
  • MaxXouT is kicking around the idea of having Virgil help with their merch table at the Millvale Music Festival.
  • The greatest of Royal Rumble events happened.
  • Thanks to Larry for being our Middle East correspondent helping us keep things straight for the Greatest Royal Rumble.
  • We touch on some of the politics involved with the Greatest Royal Rumble.
  • Backlash is this weekend, and we’re getting a Samoan vs Samoan match.
  • So…another cross-promotional PPV.
  • This week’s Big Question: Which legacy wrestlers have filled their family shoes the best, and which haven’t?
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

Wrestling Mayhem Show 605: The Return of Mayhem Mania

It’s a full house this week as we’ve got Sorg, Larry, Bobby, Mad Mike, Billy, and Mainstream Matt in studio. As a special treat, comedian Jaye Cooper joins us as we kick off Mayhem Mania! This week’s show is packed. We’re a few days removed from NXT Takeover, the Royal Rumble, and a host of other wrestling shows over the weekend – which means we have a TON to talk about:WMS

  • The worst thing for Sorg – when he can’t recognize local wrestlers in their street clothes.
  • So much rumbling happened this weekend! We’re giving our thoughts.
  • Royal Rumble appearance of Rey Mysterio confused us after watching the last season of Lucha Underground.
  • We have mixed reviews of the return of The Hurricane from Royal Rumble.
  • We’re crossing the wrestling streams because of NJPW, WWE, and IMPACT happenings and shuffles.
  • We’re fans of all kinds of wrestling.
  • OH: I met him one time at a funeral…
  • Welcome to Wrestle Kingdom two years ago WWE fans.
  • The Women’s Rumble exceeded many of our expectations.
  • Sorg wants a Total Taker show with Undertaker and Michelle McCool.
  • We’re following the #JacobsForMayor campaign, because Kane.
  • Royal Rumble had matches other than rumbly things. Things happened.
  • Braun Strowman teaching Alexa Bliss how to flip a car is the best thing ever.
  • Mad Mike was in the same building as Ray Rowe, Ricochet, and EC3 this weekend.
  • We’re rebranding Ricochet as Rick O’Shea so he can keep his name.
  • Mad Mike and Larry are teaming up to take on War Machine for the Tag Titles.
  • We’re talking some NXT Takeover and Johnny Wrestling.
  • We’re talking some Kassius Ohno options with NXT.
  • Holy $#!% Adam Cole match at NXTTakeover.
  • As big a night Royal Rumble was for Japan, NXT Takeover was just as big for Cleveland.
  • This week’s Big Question: Who left from IMPACT Wrestling do you want to see pop up in WWE?
  • It’s Mayhem Mania time!
  • What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
  • We learned collaboratively that Jaye Cooper thinks he can take on Ray Rowe. (For the record – we vehemently disagree.)

Fan of the show, Brandon Mynatt, will be a participant in the 2018 Special Olympics as part of the Team Missouri Bowling Team. (Donate at: http://give.somo.org/site/TR?px=1073149&fr_id=1190&pg=persona)

Mayhem Mania 2017: Patreon In The Bank!!!

This. is. Mayhem Mania!

Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

This is not fantasy booking (even though it kind of is). Any match created must be possible in real life. That means all wrestlers come in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. Anyone selected for a match must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card. Simply put, you’re Vince McMahon with infinite cash and no self-control.

Many weeks ago, we started our journey by creating 8 matches for our card. Then, we started making changes…and more changes…and even more changes. It wasn’t always pretty. Here’s where you can catch up on what happened during Round 1Round 2Round 3Round 4Round 5Round 6Round 7 and Round 8. Any match that survived 3 rounds of Mayhem Mania without being altered in any way, GRADUATED to the SUPERCARD, creating room for new and even more fantastic match ideas. This process led to three graduated matches.

All this hard work and hurt feelings led to the epic Patreon In The Bank round of Mayhem Mania, in which the Patreon supporters of the Wrestling Mayhem Show were invited to make multiple changes, fast-track matches to the SUPERCARD and much more. (more…)
