Mayhem Mania 2018: Week 2

This. is. Mayhem Mania!

Not quite a game. Not really a contest. More like a competitive thought experiment. The object is to create the best WrestleMania card possible – NOT necessarily to predict what WWE will do.

This is not fantasy booking. It’s more like reality booking. Any match created must have at least a chance of happening in this year’s WrestleMania. That means all wrestlers come in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. Anyone selected for a match must have a reasonable chance of being hired by WWE to appear on the real-life WrestleMania card.

Simply put, you’re Vince McMahon with infinite cash and no self-control.

Catch up with Mayhem Mania 2018: Week 1

Welcome to Week 2 of Mayhem Mania. Last week, we created the eight matches that make up the framework for our card of incredible matches. Now, the real fun begins. On Episode 606 of the Wrestling Mayhem Show, five players were invited to each make a single change to the card. They had three options.

1. SWAP a wrestler/tag team for one already on the card, or bring for a name not currently on the card.
2. ADD an unused wrestler/tag team to an existing match.
3. KILL a match AND CREATE an entirely new match with wrestlers not currently on the card.

Let’s see how they did.

Because the match Larry created did not survive to the end of this week’s round, we must apply the “Alex Kahrs Rule”. Larry will be invited back for the next round to make another move and will go last, so that his next move is guaranteed to survive.

Also, the next round will be our very first Viewer’s Choice Round in Mayhem Mania. All of you reading this are invited to send an email to [email protected] and tell us the change you would make to our card. We will use at least one of them, and perhaps more. It’s your chance to make your voices heard, so don’t miss out! Who knows? Your match may survive three weeks without being changed and graduate to the SUPER CARD! That would mean you’d have a chance to create yet another match AND hand out some punishment to one of our players.

Speaking of high stakes, during Week 2 of Mayhem Mania, I introduced an envelope which contains my Mayhem Mania dream match! If anyone is able to guess what it is they will receive a bounty of spectacular prizes, unprecedented in the history of Mayhem Mania.

1) Graduate any match to the SUPER CARD
2) Hand out a dose of punishment to one of the players
3) One ELIMINATOR (which allows the player to eliminate any person not currently on the card from being used in Mayhem Mania 2018)

Now, here’s the latest edition of the HOTTEST show on the internet: TALKING Mayhem Mania!

Due to time constraints, I didn’t have a chance to address the status of Jason Jordan. Currently, he’s listed as being out indefinitely. To me, that means we have no idea when he’d be available for a match. Without a definite date for his return, I can not allow Jason Jordan to be used at this time.

Thanks for being part of Mayhem Mania. Join us for next week’s episode entitled “Larry And Mad Mike Stop Being Polite” or “If I Can’t Have General Managers, I’ll Book Announcers”.
